4/10/19 – NEW Safety alert for all EMERADE 500, 300 and 150 (Adrenaline auto-injector pens)

There have been reports of some Emerade pens not activating and the needle not being released from the device. This means that the dose is not delivered and your pen will not be effective. This is not related the needle blockage which was subject to a previous alert in July 2019. Currently pens are not being recalled but patients are advised to read the information and advice contained in this letter (Drug Alert 2)

If you would like further information or advice please contact your community pharmacist or ask to speak to the pharmacist at the surgery.

Drug Shortages

There are currently over 100 routine drugs which are currently unavailable or in short supply. The Pharmacies are trying their best to source the drugs your GP prescribes but where they are unavailable it may be necessary to change your prescription to an alternative product.

If you have a New, Acute illness or sudden onset Chest Pain— Call 999

please do not come into the surgery.

We are not an emergency or  walk- in centre and we do not have the facilities or equipment that would be available to you at hospital.

Repeat prescriptions - please leave enough time for these to be processed.

It takes the Practice 2 working days to process routine repeat prescriptions and the Pharmacies a further 2 working days to prepare the medication. 

Please leave at least 4 working days between the time you submit your request and the time you go to the pharmacy to collect the medication.


We no longer be able to accept emailed requests for repeat prescriptions.   If you currently use this   method you will need to select an alternative option going forward.  The easiest solution is to use the repeat prescribing section on Patient     Access. If you are not already registered to use Patient Access to book   appointments then you will need to come to Reception with a copy of your ID and we will issue you with your log-in details and password.

Once registered you can request your regular repeat   prescriptions with just a few clicks.


Patient Transport

Please note that the hospitals no longer book transport for their outpatient clinics. If you require ambulance transport you will need to contact E-ZEC Medical direct on 0300 777 6688 to arrange your own transport.

We have now introduced text reminders. Please ensure that you have notified us of your current mobile number so that you can benefit from this service.

Ear Syringing

Please note that due to a cut in funding we are no longer able to offer routine ear syringing for the removal of impacted ear wax. Ear syringing will only be undertaken if required by secondary care or if there is deemed to be a specific medical need. Leaflets outlining alternative options and routine ear care to prevent wax build up are available from reception.

In order to  to access on-line booking and prescriptions and on-line access to your medical record you will need to register at reception

Please bring your ID into reception and we will be able issue you with  access details and passwords immediately.
